Part II — The Pivot Point Process
Understanding Your Primary Pivot Point
Chapter 5 · From The Pivot Point Process
Your Primary Pivot Point is a short, personal statement of who you are — the foundation everything else in the process builds outward from. Bill Heaner's own is LRKG, for Love, Respect, Kindness, and Gratitude: four words he returns to whenever a decision, a relationship, or a day pulls him off course.
Yours doesn't need to be an acronym, and it doesn't need to be permanent. It needs only to be true enough, right now, that you can measure a choice against it and feel whether that choice moves you closer to the person you mean to be — or further away.
In the next section, you'll define your Three Reasons — the purposes your foundation supports — before moving on to the Gifts and Talents and Living Life List that give the process its shape day to day.
Everything else in your Pivot Point Process builds outward from this point — and should remain aligned with it.
